Junk on the shoulder that made you chuckle.
Last week-end I was wondering if anyone had a bad skunk experience (bored).
Browsing through last years touring photo's, I found several photo's of broken Serpentine belts. I often went back to take these photo's with the intention of e-mailing them to a distant friend. "You know someone's day just changed".
See how clear my head got after a week on the road.
Let's hear your experience.

Ouch, gotta keep up with belt maintenance. A friend was selling an old BMW car & I was surprised to learn it had a timing chain with no specific replacement interval, auto version of Rohloff I guess.

Found a massive pile (50+ mags) of Japanese porn buried in the snow on top of a rather large mountain pass in Nagano Pref. Odd place to view to be enjoying photos...

Some of the brush on the side of the road was thorn bushes, so you really wanted to be careful where you put your tires. And you did not want to ride too close with bare legs.

Through the years I've noticed a remarkable number of what appear to be women's panties on the side of the road. No, I've not taken photos. Imagine a scenario "These damn things have given me their last wedgie, they're going out the window now!

No photos of the items in place but I was a road rep for about 15 years and did a lot of driving. Started picking up hats I spotted on the roadside and I hung them up on the basement rafters until I ran out of space (at about 80 hats) so began boxing up the extras. Moved from that house about four years ago with about 900 hats. Trying to load photo failed.

Just yesterday, while riding the trails on my mtb, in the middle of almost a thousand acres of forest was one high heel shoe. I bet that shoe could tell a goof tale if it could talk, haha.
On the road, mostly dead animals.... which is always sad to see. Most disturbing was a black bear cub with the mother watching over it, as if she was waiting for it to wake up (it was hit by a car less than a hour before we rode through)

Seen roadside in Michigan's upper peninsula a buns up kneeling blow up doll with a strategically inserted beer bottle. I have a pic but could possibly be banned if posted.

I found a large machete on the shoulder of the road, when cycling across southern Arkansas. A friend that did a week long tour with me, would pick up strange objects, of no value, to give to friends back home as souvenirs. Once found an unexpired out of state car license plate. Picked it up. Sometime later, I seen a cop, who was parked and looking for speeders. I pulled in and asked "Was my speed ok?". Then I gave the license plate to him. Guess I've watched too many cop shows. I expected him to run the plate, find out the car was stolen, or was involved in a crime, and would then want me to take him to the exact spot where I found it. But no such luck.

On an F-road in Iceland, I found a bike chain. Not a great omen when you're miles from the nearest civilization on a road made for 4x4's, but we did fine!
