Favorite touring video?
 

I am not sure what my favorite is, but this trip looks good.

Is this one anygood, or am I watching youtube when I should be pedaling my bicycle?

"Tourung" ?? Is that in the original German?

BBC 'Fat Man on a Bike' tom vernon , author of several books the TV series was based on..

I don't particularly like riding my bike at night in the rain, so there is a time and place for both. A lot of time I have them going while I am working on things around the home, maintaining a bike, brewing beer, cleaning, etc.

Where I like videos is trip planning. It is rather hard to find info on some river crossings conditions I am considering in Iceland, thankfully there are no shortage of guys in 4x4's recording themselves doing it on the crossings in question. Same when I went to the Netherlands last year, I watch quite a few videos, helping to plan out my route through towns and paths I would have never otherwise considered.

I like Iohan Gueorgiuev, I have watched a number of his See the World videos. This particular one isn't really about bike touring, its more about bike pushing, bike carrying and floating down rivers on a pack raft with a bike as cargo.

The guy is amazing, he goes all kinds of places with his bike, endures all kinds of hardships, records it and remains astoundingly cheerful. I am wondering how he supports himself, it seems he has been travelling continuously since 2014.

I recommend his videos.

It's tough to really get a sense of how long he's gone, seems he's probably doing shorter stuff within France, but this guy is awesome and would qualify as a touring video in my mind:

Like most weather worn tourists I've met over the years doing big trips, he doesn't care one iota about his bike or gear, besides it works and still functions, it's all about the journey.

There is a movie on Netflix about Mike Hall and others in a self supported race that is kind of touring related. Forgot what it's called. It was enjoyable to watch, but not fun to ride, I'm sure.

a bunch of damn good movies here. Boy, lots of time taken by these folks doing the whole "set up camera, ride through scene, come back and get camera and tripod, put away in bike"......and then continue on.

I just wouldnt have the patience, but its great watching a well made film, so kudos to them all.

Watching this stuff makes me think it woiuld be neat to have had more video of my recent trip, but doing more certainly would require diff cameras and the willingness to take the time to do good stuff.....

I already was subscribed to Iohan. That guy is really amazing. I love his videos and personality.

Here is one that I haven't seen here yet. Frans from Holland doing Russia, Tibet and China. His trips are an excellent glimpse into what these countries really look (or looked like) . My Youtube shows subtitles on his videos, badly translated but still with enough function to keep watching.

Iohan was a Blackburn Ranger...I don't think the sponsorship is a permanent thing it only lasts for a year

I was watching Your videos a few days ago. I especially liked the last one at Santi Spiritus (sic) - I think your calm narration, along with the dialog around your meal was especially palatable. :-) I'd suggest to intersperse the 'dashcam footage' with more off the bike encounters.

I've seen this a few times now, a well made documentary about her uncle or great uncle. He was killed a few years back, maybe three, by a large farm equipment truck or tractor near his house while riding.
A real eccentric fellow, quite the character.
