REI Outlet Sale on Dehydrated Foods
Hey Gang,
Rei.com is having a sale on their dehydrated foods over in the REI OUTLET section of their site. The stuff is 'packaging seconds'. It seems that a big lot of the stuff was packed in the wrong bags, the fold won't let the bag stand up by itself when you fill it with water, you have to lean it against something. At an average price under 5 bucks, I'll be getting a batch of 'em for those times that I really don't feel like cooking. Calorie wise, they seem to average 300-400 calories a serving, most of the bags are 2 servings, or one portion for a biker. Thought I'd share this with you, some of us just can't hang on oatmeal and raman noodles for each meal.

Hey thanks for the headsup.
I don't use these much four cycle touring (maybe 1 as a "backup"). I use them more hiking/backpacking, but usually will do cheaper meal options. These are also a good idea to have about with my "emergency" storm kit.
Tasty Bites brand Indian foods are also a nice addition to a storm kit. I don't use them hiking, but do on bike trips on occassion. They are a bit heavy-but well TASTY.
