Opps!! got confused with double tap and Etap.
OP would you consider changing the cranks to 26-40 or 28-42 in a Sram 1000 crank? |

If you have used that gearing in the past you will be fine. Familiarity with what you can do with the equipment you have is the only way to find out. What works for some people may not work for others.

Well, after all that, I've decided to build the bike with an old triple and MTB rear derailleur I had lying around. Once I'm done with the tour, I'll put on my SRAM parts.

What sort of crankset, chain Ring wise?
And what frame are you going to use, don't believe you ever mentioned? What shifters are you thinking of using with the triple setup? |
