Tubus Airy?
Anybody know how wide a 26 inch tire this rack will take?
https://www.bike-discount.de/en/buy/...er-26-28-31575
The Fly Evo is showing a 45mm max, presumably for a 700.
Would that not suck, to spend over $100 on a rack, then discover it only takes skinny tires.

This picture still isn't the best but shows the rack and tire a bit better

Note that my rack is mounted a bit higher due to the way it attaches to the frame than a normal braze-on. The 26x2.2" Ardent might have more issue with a lower mount.

According to Tubus specifications they will take a 47mm wide tyre.

Tubus have attachment accessory "risers" or at least they did.

Nice Moots! I wish I could find a Tubus Airy, those things are freakin' neat. I bet I could find someone to make something similar.

Finally, there is the issue of what to do with the rack and, more importantly, the load when you pull out that skewer. You have to take the load off the rack or risk bending the rack or stays while changing a wheel.
I'd rather have the rack attached to the frame and carry it a little high than the other option.

I avoid using the quick release for a rack mount for several reasons. The biggest problem is that it makes the quick release in to something that doesn't release quickly. It's fiddly. The other problem is that you are putting weight on a very thin piece of metal that can be bent. I've used Old Man Mountain's system in the past and even without ever carrying a touring load, the quick release skewer bent and was almost impossible to extract from the hub.

Not so, these are frame mounted risers.
I bought some for my Ogre initially worrying about whether my 2.3 tires and 60mm polished stainless steel fenders would be too much for my Cosmo rear rack.
Turned out I didn't need them anyway in the end.
Tubus do some skewer mounted extensions here: tubus - Schnellspanner-Adapter HR-Träger
I've not seen them in the flesh though.
