Coyote's Big Adventure

Hello all.

I'm planning a trip from Florida to Colorado (Boulder) next spring and I figured on maybe keeping a running post here to catalogue the whole thing, from step one to the finish line. Training updates, small practice runs, experiences, questions, that sort of thing.

At this exact moment, I'm waiting on someone else to finish up buying a house (have to help them move) before I get into hardcore preparations. I've done a fair bit of the brainwork already.

My plan is to start small; day runs on the local trails, minimally loaded at first then build up from there. One good thing I can say about this state, we do have a few decent trails.

The one caveat to all this is, I intend to bring my cat along with me. He's actually a pretty good riding buddy, based off experience around town. He loves riding in my basket.

I'll be leaving from Spring Hill, about 40 miles north of Tampa. I have my route and rough timeframe planned out as far as Pensacola. I'm going for a leisurely pace. 60 miles per day thereabouts. That's roughly 8 hours travelling, one hour at a time, averaging 10 mph, half hour breaks in-between with an hour lunch around noon.

So that's me for now. Any thoughts? Suggestions?

You might consider doing it here: crazyguyonabike

It seems like a more appropriate place to post journals, and you can post a link to your journal here. Good luck on your venture!
