Soma Wolverine Build

I recently purchased a Soma Wolverine off of craigslist that is built with a Gates Carbon drive single speed and TRP hydraulic disc brakes. I want to rebuild the bike from the bottom up that will be used primarily for road touring, but would have the ability to go on gravel (loaded) as well.

I keep running in circles trying to find components that are compatible with each other (this is my first project bike), and I'm getting quite frustrated. Wanted to see if anyone had a kit / list of parts that they've used to build a similar bike with that I could use as a starting point.

There's a very detailed post on ****** where a guy detailed his Wolverine build. That might be a good starting point for you.

It's blocking out the website name for some reason but it rhymes with Shmeddit...

Second edit: After having a look around for it I realized I was remembering a build thread for a Soma Fog Cutter, not a Wolverine. My mistake. I did find a number of threads with build lists for Wolverines though.

If you want gears, I'd go wth bar end shifters and the above mentioned Deore components. There's a Deore "touring triple" crank with 48-36-26 chainrings that comes in 9 or 10 speed, and you can get a 11-36 cassette for a nice wide range.

Or you could keep the belt drive and add a Rohloff hub.

I think I posted this before, but I built a Wolverine for a car replacement/touring bike. I blogged the build (with zero previous experience) here. My list of components are in this post.

Ask any questions you have as I'm quite familiar with the frameset.
