Touring with a kid and a dog
i will be setting out soon on a multi-country year plus tour with a 7 year old and a springer spaniel. (No, I’m not right in the head). I want to make sure I think of everything I can before we leave, packing lists, how to keep them amused and make sure the boy gets educated, border crossing considerations (he’s my nephew) for the boy and dog. Anything you can think of I would appreciate.

Nephew? No! No! No! No!
If you think money can get between family members then try getting a nephew hurt, lost, kidnapped or worse killed. And they are all a distinct possibility while touring especially to other countries. And this isn't even considering issues you will have with crossing a border with a child that is not yours.
And what do you plan to do with the dog when crossing a border (I assume you mean country and not state)? You do realize that most countries require a quarantine for pets when crossing? Some are 30 days or more.
Your plan is plain idiotic. But with only one post, I smell troll. That can be the only thing that explains your post because no one can be dumb enough to consider such a plan.

if the dog and child are small enough, they can fit in one of the discount fork bags.
and of course both the child and dog can come in handy funding the endless journey....

If you are thinking about such vital things only now you should not be taking this alleged trip.

How old is the nephew? If he's under eighteen I'd imagine you'd need some kind of legal guardian paperwork, and even with that I'd have some backup documentation to help prove you're both who you say you are. I only mention this because you referred to him as 'boy,' which makes it seem like he's young.
I assume you've also checked into bringing the animal into each country. As mentioned some places are really easy with the right papers proving vaccinations, while others require quarantine periods.
Then I guess you need to keep in mind that pets are not allowed in lots of restaurants and hotels. Depending on where and how you're touring this will be more or less strict but might make it harder to find a place to sleep at the end of the day.

Sorry, but I do believe all of us need an explanation as to why a seven year old would be forfeiting a formal education at that age for a travel education (which certainly I'm not against) when he is not your own child. Without an explanation, too many of us see this as a fake post and the rest of us are against it.

Sounds logical to me. Take an iPad, which should keep the kid happy, and an endless supply of rabbits for the dog.

In case the point was not driven home hard enough assuming you are not trolling: DON'T DO IT! This all sounds like a bad idea wrapped in several other bad ideas. Taking someone on a shorter tour is cool if they are interested and spending time with family is great but this is not that. This sounds like a let's take someone's kid and a dog and be homeless on a bike around the world and that doesn't sound like a great life for either the dog or child. Yes adventures are cool and going on tour is a fun but for something like this I would do it with friends of my age rather than young children that aren't mine or go it alone.
