I sleep in my "permanent camp at home" in the Swedish forest as many nights as possible all year. Deer, moose, and wild boar are my neighbours.
If surprised, the boar can be extremely aggressive and dangerous, so it's always best to be noisy when walking through the forest especially after dusk... and ready to climb a tree!

Agree 100%. I cook a lot at home. Rarely do I get take out or something that merely needs heating up. I thoroughly enjoy cooking on the road. Part of it is sometimes the challenge of wandering around an unfamiliar grocery store trying to come up with an idea for something that will hopefully be half way decent. I always have olive oil, fresh garlic, salt, pepper and Aleppo pepper flakes in my kit. That helps.

My last scrounge was back in September at small store in Pennsyltucky. Ended up with canned clams, decent tomatoes and onion. Used reserved pasta water to add more moisture.
