Tahoe Pyramid Trail Short Tour - Camping Beta?
 

I'm planning to ride the Tahoe Pyramid trail from Lake Tahoe to Reno with two nights of camping along the way. Has anyone done a similar trip? Thanks in advance for any insights!

Three days would be a leisurely trip. I've done the ride several times in a day without feeling rushed. But taking 3 days would have lots of potential time out for fishing and having a long lunch in Truckee. Best camping spots would give you 2 short days and one a bit longer. There are several campgrounds on Highway 89 between Tahoe City and Truckee. Check to see if they are open and reservations are probably necessary. There is riverside camping just east of Hirschdale. I small side trail takes you from the TPT to the river. It's somewhere off the broken paved road before you get to the single track. You can also find some camping in the canyon along the trail itself, but I can't pinpoint anything specific for you.
