New Bike Tires for 2016 Trek 520
Hey all, this post is for anyone who was looking for some "thicker/nobbier" tires than the ones that come stock on the Trek 520. With the fenders on, it was hard for me to find tires that would fit. Luckily, I have an awesome local bike shop in here in NJ that reached out to Trek for me and got a set of tires that had some more grip than the road tires "slicks" that came with the bike. I wanted a little more grip to be able to ride on some crushed gravel trails and did not feel 100% comfortable riding on "road tires". I don't have any experience with these yet as I just picked up the bike today, but wanted to let everyone know there is an option.

Yep, I put about 3000 miles on those in 38’s and another 2000 in the same size on my cross bike which is my bad weather bike. Not bad, supple and fast. Go easy on wet roads and don’t expect them to be puncture resistant. I liked them.

Yeah. I also use those. They roll fast IMHO.
They are easy on and easy off too. I won't break my tire levers :-)
They absorb bumps very well. Nice plush ride.

I had some tread delimitation on the WTB tires after 3000 miles of really hard, rocky use. For my next set I went a little wider just to see how wide a Trek 520 can handle. Bought a set of 700x47 tires that actually measure 45 mm at 40 psi on my rims.
