"TADPOLE" TRIKES FOR TOURING?

I was looking through at the post showing bikes loaded for touring and tadpole trikes certainly seem the ultimate solution for comfort and carrying abillity. My question is; "How do you ship those puppies". Taking a regular bike plus gear is a major headache, I can't imagine how you trike tourers solve this problem.

There's a section just for trikes on CGoaB, and I'm sure some of them discuss shipment in their journals. Even if they don't, you may be able to post a message there, too. Here's the link to the list:

Heidi D. has a picture of the box she built to ship her trike here:

Funny you should ask because I was just today talking with my friend and owner/maker of LoGo Trikes (www.logotrikes.com) about the very same thing. He and his wife took a trike on a world marketing trip and apparently just rolled up a the airport with the trike without a box and only had to let the tyres down. No damage and they took it as it was because it didn't break down to a smaller size. He said he did wrap a towel around the chainrings to protect them and the airline people and away it went - no problems.

I don't think there is any one way to do it, it just depends on the airline.
Might be worth a try though.

Regards

Andrew
