Attaching rear rack to Pace RC200 F2
 

Hi all, I’m looking to fit a rear rack to my Pace RC200 F2. However there are no mounting points and the tubing is all square, so this makes it a slightly tricky task.

has anyone got any recommendations for the best way to get around this?

if no mounting holes at the rear end, nor near seat, P-clamps are the way to go, extra large ones that can be formed around the square frame bits.
Make sure the lower ones are good and strong, as they will taking most of the weight of panniers.
You can buy seat clamps that have two bolt holes for the horizontal parts of rear racks, but your frame may have an odd sized or shaped seat clamp area, who knows. check it out, if not, c clamps will work.
bike stores will have rubber covered c clamps and should be able to help you out

Old Man Mountain still makes racks that can be supported by an axle skewer.

(Internet images of the Pace RC200 F2 suggest a round seatpost and lack of a brake bridge.) There are (load limited) racks that only attach to the seatpost, cantilevering above the rear wheel.

With that Old Man Mountain rack suggested above, you might have to use djb's suggested seatpost rack mount collar to anchor the upper rack arms.

You didn't say why you wanted to fit a rack. That's okay. Anyway, there are luggage systems that don't require a rack.

Exactly how to employ these with a particular rack is left as an exercise for the reader. :)

Don't know if the person with one post will ever come back, but Axiom makes that streamliner rack that uses an axle support skewer thing also. Old rim version and disc versions, don't know if they are still sold, but will cost a lot less than the OMM.
They are a bit of a pain in the rear to put on, but once on, they seem to work perfectly fine.
