At the end of my 1st full day in Paris - the beginning of what was supposed to be a 2 month tour.
Totally my fault, didn't see/clear a metal post blocking the entrance to a pathway.
Shattered Distal Radius and fractured Ulna, the hospital in Paris immobilized it so I could fly home.
Surgery 10 days later back in the USA.
Being badly hurt, alone, in a foreign country was pretty traumatic experience.
Thankful it happened in France though. They took good care of me.

Tired from jetlag? I say that because I find I'm pretty zonky minded the first day and more. Really find it important to plan in a do very little day or two at first.
Pretty crappy experience though, geez Louise. I'm glad the medical folks took care of you properly.

A few photos from the last portion of our tour this year. Mostly taken in October. Each photo has a label underneath.

We took twenty six thousand photos during this tour. Will take me months to sort through.

26,000 photos?! Wow. The ones you posted look amazing - what a wondrous place.

Hope you find time to sort through them all.

After years of hearing others talk about it, I finally rode the GAP and C&O Trails back in May.

Then in the fall, I joined a buddy for a trip around New York's Finger Lakes. Last time we had toured together was the PCH in 1998. Too long a gap. We'll ride again sooner, hopefully
