Dura-Ace hub

I asked this question on the Bicycle Mechanic section but no one with touring experience could answer so I will repost it here. I have a friend that has a NIB 36h Dura-Ace front hub. He said this is an older version so I imagine he has had it for quite some time. Would this hub be good for making a front wheel for a touring bike in 700c. I don't know much about road bike equipment and have always heard of mountain bike gear used on touring bikes. What say you???
