Fair Market Value Kuwahara Caravan
I have been looking at an old touring bike a Kuwahara Caravan and I am hoping someone can give me an opinion as to fair market value. The bike is late 1980's era and is in excellent condition. A description of the bike is
Kuwahara Caravan * Lugged steel loaded touring bike * Ishiwata EXO Cr-Mo Quadruple Butted tubing * All Shimano components * 6-speed index downtube shifters * Triple front - 50/44/28......13/30 rear * Ukai 700c, touring wheels: 36h-front, 40h-rear * Sansin Gyromaster hubs * Shimano SLR break levers * Cantilever brakes* * 170mm cranks * Nitto classic style drop bars * Cinelli Cork tape * Braze-ons: front rack eyelette and mid fork, front fender eyelette rear fender and rack, chainstay spoke holder, three bottle holders. Thanks for your opinions |
If you wish to get maximum value out of it, put it on ebay. Otherwise I'd say you could probably get 100-200 for it. Depends on the frameset and what people are looking for. Old 70's Masi road bikes fetch a mint, but an old touring bike, well... Although I watched a Trek 720 touring bike go for $400 last year. (I was trying to score it). Clean bike too, guy who bought it was local to me, and I got to saw what I lost. If you don't go ebay, and craigslist.org services your area, you could sell it there too.
