colorado springs suggestions
I'll be in Colorado Springs for about 2 weeks in May and was looking for camping suggestions. Most of the places I've found on the web are RV campsites next to the highway, and way over priced.
Any ideas? I would usually just wing it when I arrive, but I thought I would get a jump on this because of the long stay. Thanks! |

The campground at Rampart Range Resevoir is nice, but no showers. There is a KOA campground in Woodland Park that has very nice tent camping area, showers, laundry etc. It's on the north side of town.

My only objection to camping with RVs is when I get sandwiched between two campers that have generators running all night and the TV's turned up loud. That always ruins the experience for me. When I tour I usually kind on wing it each night, but since I have to spend 2 weeks there I thought it good to have a plan. I'll check those sites you mentioned. Thanks! |

There really isn't a lot to choose from here in the springs. Your best bet for camping will likely be the one indicated in the post above, Garden Of The Gods campground. I stayed there once years ago and it was ok. It's in town and has nice facilities.
I cant remember exact prices, but do remember that a cheap hotel would have been about the same or less. If you need more info, please let me know... I live here. Don |
I'd camp at the "Focus on the Family" headquarters. And I'd make sure to piss on the statue of James Dobson.
