I am such a sucker for peer pressure. ;) I placed a couple orders over the last few days for my LHT build. Here is the breakdown:

Frame: 62cm Cherry Pearl Surly LHT
Crank: Sugino XD600 26-36-46
Bottom Bracket: Truvative (cheap)
Headset: Cane Creek S-3
Stem: Ritchey Adj.
Handlebar: Nitto Noodle
Brake Levers: Cane Creek SCR-5
Shifters: Dura-Ace Barcons
Brakes: Avid Shorty 6
Seatpost: Kalloy
Seat: Brooks B17
F. Deraileur: Shimano Deore LX (maybe)
R. Deraileur: ??
Cassette: ??
Hubs: Shimano LX
Spokes: ??
Rims: ??
Tires: Schwalbe Marathon 700x32
Cables: Aztec Sets
Brake Pads: Kool-stop salmon
Rack: Tubus Cargo

I went with the adjustable stem so I could dial in my position over the coming months. Once I'm comfortable I will probably move to a fixed stem. I have a local recycled bike LBS and I plan to see if they have any deals on a cassette and r. derailleur. I have some old bike parts I can trade. I'll probably have them build up my wheels around my LX hubs. Still need to add fenders and lights. These fenders are nice: http://www.jitensha.com/eng/fndrs_e.html

Total build cost should end up ~$1200. Not bad considering most of my build is new parts. :D
I'm assembling it myself so no labor costs.
