Panniers

I bought some basic panniers not too long ago for my upcoming tour. These panniers are okay, but I wanted to make some modifications to them. I have added a sleeve to carry my tent on the outside, very useful for when I need more room.

Planned next is some velcro straps that will secure my solio for charging on the go, and backpack straps that will turn the pannier into a backpack for when I want to venture away from my bike. I live in a big city and am too paranoid to leave anything behind.

Once that is done, I will add a removable shoulder strap to my handlebar bag. Woot!

I had a front and back set of carradice super c,s...Now what I did was customise them in the following way. Firstly on the rear ones I stitched on two nets with zips on. Then I bought some water bottle holders from the local army and navy store, and after dying them black I riveted and stitched them onto the sides of the front and the rear....that means I have created six extra pockets....This years tour of the baltics will be the first time I will be trying them out, but I see no problems...........oh by the way I have one of them solar panel gadgets which I have not tried yet, but have heard they arent powerful enough...I will surely find out this trip

I have heard the same thing. I have been considering getting a Brunton but Im so tired of spending money. I have some external battery packs that have about 25 hours of charging to them so I am going to use the solar charger to charge those simple devices, then use the pack to charge everything else.

I will find out on my trip as well.
