Atlantic Coast with Adventure Cycling?
Has anyone done the Atlantic coast ride using Adventure Cycling maps? I've used their
stuff before, quite a few years ago, and they were pretty good. Just wondering how these maps hold up. Anybody have any recollections? |
What do you mean "hold up." You mean do the maps get worn out and ragged after days of toruing? Or do you mean are the informative and helpful? If I recall there are zillions of alternative sub-routes you can take on the east coast Bike route. Do you intend to be riding along the ocean or near the coast the whole way? My own approach would be to ride along the appalachians further inland....fewer people, more scenery. And pretty much self selection when it comes to routes.

Yeah, meant how good is the info on them these days. I've got some old maps of
theirs and they are pretty tough physically. Thinking that I'll just let them map the route if the maps are any good. IE is there anything along the route they map out that I should avoid. SW Florida to Richmond, VA. |
i have adventure cycles map from PA to richmond and the roads they have on it from dc to fredericksburg are not rural roads anymore.there are some in prince william county that i wouldnt walk on.they need to update the virginia section.as far as the map itself being correct it is and you can go to the website for the latest info.

Yeah, I'm thinking that Richmond, VA is about as far north as I would care to go.
Fellow I'm riding with wants to do 1300 miles in 2 weeks! Gonna be tough to keep up with him! LOL |
