What is a good max HR % for touring?

Hi,
I have never used a HRM for touring. Last 2 or 3 years I left mine in the closet.
I overdid it on a 4 day trip recently, and I decided to get a new one. But if you are riding all day, then you would want to keep a medium pace.

Does anyone have an idea what HR% works for touring? I was thinking Zone 2, maybe the low end of Zone 3, but it's been so long I just don't remember much
about it.

I will be riding 4 to 6 hours a day.

here's an idea, slow down. ride an easier gear. strapping something that i have to lick to my chest to go enjoy a long ride through the country is in my opinion rediculous. its like going for a sunday drive and watching the tackometer, or walking in the the country side with 150 dollar trekking poles and 150 dollar shoes. why? slow down, take breaks.

Hi,
I often do, but in this case I will be crossing a mountain range.
Not an option...
