Max tire width on a Giant OCR Touring?

Can anyone tell me the maximum tire width a Giant OCR Touring [2003] can take? Any chance they could take a 700x45 tire?

Does one generally only put a fatter tire on the rear (is that preferable)? Or is it preferable to have both tires of equal width? Thank you

Hmm... I'll take a measure to mine, but I think a 45mm tire could go in there.

I'm planning on putting on some 45mm fenders, if that helps.
