Which Flightdeck for Novara Randonee?

Hi,

I'm getting a Novara Randonee for Christmas. Already bought it, but my wife won't let me ride it until Christmas day, so she has it locked away from me. I want to get a shimano flightdeck computer for it as well, and would like to go ahead and order one. Does anyone have any idea which computer I should be looking for? There seem to be several kits on the web.

TIA!

I have a Flight Deck and I am replacing it. I am not replacing it with another FD. The integrated controls in the shifter help to ease the pain of the high price but it is still hard to justify for what you get in the computer.

The biggest problem is the wires going from shifter to computer are far too short. You don't have many options on where you can mount the computer because of the length of the wires. The wires are also very flimsy. I think I damage to one of the wires is what caused mine to fail.

There is only type of FD computer (well actually too but I don't think the 9 speed 6501 is sold anymore). The difference is the mounting kit. You can look at this chart to see which one is for you.

If you are still interested, I may consider selling my computer head. You will still need to purchase a mounting kit. Just PM me. I have the 6501.

Hey OperationOrange--
Congrats on your new ride--You'll probably get more feedback if you post this thread in the Road Cycling forum--there are more gearheads over there. Good luck

Thanks for the link spinnaker. Yep, looks like the SC-6502 with SM-6501 Bracket is what I need.
