Thanks to this forum, I finally picked out all my parts and the LHT frame is being prepped and built
I'm having it built by Dave Kurt over at www.thepathbikeshop.com in Tustin California. This guy is awesome and has been a big help.
If you're ever in So. California, you've got to check out their shop. Killer shop.
Dave's prepping the frame with a rustproofing spray that they use.

Sounds like an awesome bike and will be a great tourer. How much is this going to set you back? Are you going to install fenders and racks on your own? Can't wait to see the pics. I gotta get some pics of my new Rocky Mountain Sherpa 30 out on the forums. I've only had it a week but it's been through the wet grit and grime of a few Pacific Northwest commutes already... looks broken in! (except for my b17 saddle)

I'm going to buy a set of Tubus racks and install them myself later. I'm going to use the Logo in the rear and the Tara up front. I'll probably go with Arkel or Carradice bags.

That is one awesome bike...
You are lucky, so share the wealth when you get done - I'm talking pictures, weight, impressions, etc!
How much are they charging to put it together, including the spray and building the wheels?

Thanks!
Labor to build the wheels, rustproof the frame, prep the frame(ream and or face the headtube, chase threads) and to install all parts and tune came out to 180.

Sounds like a great bike but I wish you had decided to build it yourself. If anything goes wrong on tour, you'll have a much better understanding of how to fix it than relying on mechanics. It also makes how easy bike repair and maintence is pretty apparent.
Park's website is great for instructions too.

I would have loved to build it myself, but I don't have the time, tools and truing stand to do any of it. Plus he's prepping the frame really well and I didn't have the means or again, the time to do it.
I am going to get the Shimano tool for the bottom bracket and the little tool to take off the cassette. I know I'll be able to do any repairs I need on the road, I've read Zinn's books and understand it well enough and have all the tools for roadside repairs.
I think I'll be OK. I've built bikes in the past.
