Full suspension touring

I just purchased a new full suspension MTB with 29" wheels.
The manufacturer doesn't see any problem touring with my sus Bob Ibex.
Has anyone tried this ?

There wouldn't be any problem. Suspession is heavy and designed for drops not vibe, but suspension tourers are popular so I can't see why you would have a problem, that's the set-up a Bob is designed for.

I'm a big fan of touring on my mountain bike. I know it's heavier and less efficient, but I can roll over curbs, pot holes, and almost anything that gets in my way. I'd like to see a forum dedicated strictly to mountain bike touring. Hang in there.

Sure, go play in the dirt with your BOB and '29er. It's all good.

Does the Ibex even come in a size for 29" wheels? I thought they were only available for 26" and 28" wheels. (??)

Last night somebody asked me if the Bob Yak would work with a full suspension mountain bike. I was under the impression it wouldn't, but after reading this thread I'm beginning to wonder. chris

I bought the 28" modification. It works with 29" wheels. There seems to be some conflicting info on pulling a bob with a full suspension bike. The guy at the bike shop said no, but when I called Turner they said sure, no problem.
After doing my first tour with a rgid MTB last summer, I'm excited about having the FS so that I can hit some singletrack along the way (unloaded). Certainly not the most efficient bike for paved roads, but I find a mix of forest service gravel roads, rails to trails and lightly traveled paved is what I enjoy the most.
