LHT(Complete) Brakes
I'm happy with just about all of my LHT except for the )@(#$ Brakes.
The LHT frame doesn't allow for any fine tuning of the brakes... the rear brake cable hanger is not threaded.
In the front, the brake cable hanger that is clamped onto the stem is also not threaded...
Is there any way to get around this? Right now, the only form of fine tuning is the unfine tuning and the repeated tightening and untightening of the brake cables are fraying and ruining the cable.... grrrr
Second, I'm touring with just a tarp, a 15 degree rated sleeping bag and a sleeping pad... no tent. Good idea? No?
Thanks a lot.

Where are you going to be touring and what time of year? What kind of filler is in the sleeping bag? Down or Synthetic? For above freezing, you should be fine with the addition of some kind of ground cover.

You might try a inline barrel adjuster.

Its a synthetic sleeping bag, REI Zephyre.
Its a 15 Degree bag and I was hoping to be able to get by with just that, a tarp and a sleeping mat.
Tarp under and over if raining, and just under if dry.

Here's a bit better view
You can also see that I put a barrel adjuster in the brake cable hanger.

i'll get some tomorrow and get the brakes sorted out... also will need spare cables since the last one got destroyed with the multiple use with the clamp...
oh, and anyone got good tricks for working on bike without a bike stand?
