Does anyone have know anything about the Carradice Overlander rear panniers? They are made from cordura and only weigh 700g a piece, that would knock a pound and a half off of my set up with comparable volume.

Robert in ca. Thanks for your reply I did check out Wallingford Bike Parts but they do not list the Overlander pannier.

Perhaps Carradice does not export them to the USA yet.

I was loooking at one of their saddle bags and called a couple of dealers including Wallbike. Sounds like Carradice does a poor job of keeping their dealers supplied. They don't have it and don't know when they will be getting it.

They are nice enough to deal w/ over the internet and provided the following link for the US Dealers although I know for certain you can scratch Rivendell off of the list.

not sure about the overlanders ive used carradice for years carradura front and super cs they are great bags well made and great customer service carradice sent some stuff free of charge to an hotel in LA after i wrote to them. In the uk people swear by them and you often see people with 40 year old carradice products speaks for itself

The quality of build seems excellent to me. Certainly the best I've ever had. The bags arrived from England super-fast but, of course, one must pay for the shipping ($30 for my package.)

The low weight is due to the stiffeneing board, it is just corrugated plastic as used in election and for sale signs. It is a great material for the job, very strong, tough, light and rivet-able. Most stiffening material used in panniers is to complex, and heavy and often less suitable.
The only problem with my 10yr old Super-C is that the corners of the board have worn into the material. I cut a small radius around the corners of the board to prevent any further damage and would do this to any new bags.
