hubs

Posting here because it relates to my touring bike.

How are shimano deore hubs for touring wheels? Anything different I could consider for not much more money ($50-75) that would be an excellent upgrade for touring wheels? Or, for this money I could upgrade the rear and the deore is fine for the front wheel?

Deore is good enough for low to mid end tandoms sold in LBS's, so I guess if they can stand up to two people riding then I'm sure they would be just fine touring on since I doubt the the total weight of you and your baggage would weigh over 360 pounds. Most bikes are set up with 180 pound adults in mind, thus two 180 pound adults equals 360 pounds total carrying weight not including the frame, and tandom frames are heavier than standard steeds.
