Giant XTC frame smart to tour on?

Hi,

I own a Giant XTC mountain bike with a lightweight aluminum frame. I was wondering if anyone has toured on a bike similar to this. With the necessary upgrades (solid front fork, trekking handlebars etc), would this bike be tour worthy? I'm worried about the frame holding up once i have it fully loaded.

Here is a link to the bike:

Thanks for all of your advice,
Dan
