Front Rack for Trek 830 Antelope
I have an old Trek 830 mountain bike that I've been fixing up as a second touring bike. I keep it at our beach house on the south coast of Spain and use it for rides in that area and into Portugal. I want to put a good-quality front rack on it, either Old Man Mountain or Tubus, both of which are available here in Seville. The problem is I don't know which of the racks made by those companies will fit it. I'd prefer to have a low-riding model.
Any ideas on which racks might fit this old bike? |
Nice bike. I owned one from '88 or '89 'til '98 when I broke the frame at the rear of the chainstay. It took an awful lot of abuse.
This link is to a fella that has his all decked out. You may find it useful: http://www.thirdwave-websites.com/bike/trek830.cfm I think you'll be able to fit most any standard rack. Nothing unusual about an 830—a fine bike. |
Thanks, Foamy. Enjoyed checking out that guy's 830.
I ended up getting a Tubus "Ergo", which my dealer tells me can be mounted on most bikes. Regards, Ekdog |
