During the last few days my left pedal had been slipping and with the powercranks it is really impossible to ride the bike without well functioning spd pedals

Sorry, but $700+ for cranks is insanity to me. That kind of cash could keep you on the road for a few more weeks/months.

If it works for you, well, knock yourself out. Seems like a rather ridiculous concept to me though.

yeah, i had issues with both of my carbon crank arms during my recent cross country tour. next time i will definitely keep it simple with conventional aluminum cranks.
these powercranks are a nice training aid for racers but it just seems like he is asking for unnecessary trouble here, especially in the third world areas.

Hey is that the Giant shop in Kashgar?
Great guys. They had some used clipless shoes shipped in for me from one of there friends in Hong Kong. Had the shoes in just a few days.
--Edit-- I checked your pictures. nope, this is a shop in Lijang. Likely just as good though!
