The shop sent two different sized tyres
I just recieved two Schwalbe maraton plus tyres from a bike shop by post. They were both supposed to be 622-32. When I opened them, it turned out that one was 622-28. Does anyone tour with a thicker tire on the rear and a thinner one on the front? I don't use front panniers only a bar bag. I guess I am trying to save the hassle of sending the thinner tire back to be changed.

I toured with conti top tourings 32 in the back 28 in the front for a while, because I had to buy a new tire somewhere that didn't have a 32. I couldn't tell the difference. Rode it that way for about 3000 miles, until the older tire (32) wore out.
I don't have an opinion or any information on whether this is a good or bad thing to do, just this experience.

As of Sheldon Brown's advice, it's possible to mix tire widths, like 32-28 mm. He has a good article on tires in general. See https://sheldonbrown.com/tires.html for more information.
