New Burley Nomad Question

I received a new Burley Nomad trailer today. It went together easily. When I put the cover on, I noticed that three of the corners have rubber O-rings that fit over the frame. The corner nearest the tow-bar has a hard plastic D-ring which has a tab like the others. Is this a defect or does the D-ring fit over something else, like the place where the tow-bar hooks on. Any info would be appreciated.

TKS.

my Nomad that I bout 5 months ago has four rubber "O" rings.
I think yours might have a defect.

On the plus side I have been thrilled with the way my trailer handles and performs. I have used it around town running errands with my fixie, and it is light and easy to pull. I have had absolutely no stability issues, even cornering at 20+ mph is fine. It tracks like a dream.

I fashioned my own quick-release hitch that is slightly less cumbersome and much smaller than the stock hitch. It only leaves a flat plate attached to the bike, so no snaggly bits. If you want a better description PM me.

Happy towing!

I called Burley this morning about the cover for the trailer. They are going to send another one out today. That is pretty fast customer service. I enjoy working with companies that are responsive to customer requests.

I took the trailer out for a ride Sunday. For weight I put a case of bottled water in and tied it down with a bungee cord. The water weighs about 31 pounds. The only difference I noticed towing the trailer is a little slower on a hill. Other than that it was a great ride. Cool temps and cloudy here in Washington, but no rain!
