Thinking about getting one for transporting my bike from Texas to Oregon. I had already booked on Delta before I knew about their oversized luggage rates, so carrying my bike on the flight is out for me.

I'm a little confused on your question. AirCaddy is simply a container for your bike correct? They have several types. Which were you thinking about? The "low end" cardboard model seems to be a bit pricey to be for a cardboard box that may or may not last one trip.

As far as shipping, the best rates I can find seem to be FedEx ground. UPS is about 3X as expensive as FedEx. But look for FedEx rates to go up due to the increased fuel costs.

BTW to date the only U.S. carrier that I know of that offers reasonable rates for bikes is Southwest. I understand they have some pretty good schedule change policies too.
