Upgrading

I just received some cash owed to me from my previous job and I'm looking to upgrade my ride a bit so that its more than just a commuter but also an all purpose commuter/utility/touring (camping) bike. I currently ride a KONA Smoke 2-9. I'm getting a new rack this Thursday. It's an A-something Journey/Odyssey (man I have bad memory) but it's got a weight capacity of 150lbs. so I think it should hold just fine whatever I put on it. I also realized that I've been here in Hawai'i for almost a year and have seen little more than Honolulu so I wanna get out and see the place and since I only have a bike and I wanna get back into camping a bit then so I figure going on a short tour weekend should be good.

Stuff I'm thinking about:
Front Rack
Panniers - rear (maybe front too?)
  • Seattle Sports Titan Pannier x2

Water bottle - gonna get me a 2nd camelbak bottle
tent
  • Hennessy Hammock tent. I saw the review on Bloodhound's website and it looked good

camping equipment
  • stove
  • shower bag
  • more stuff I know. but cant think of it at the time or to lazy to type it all out

riding gloves
helmet (maybe I know I should but I havent gotten around to it)

Any advice from the more experienced out there to make my bike all it can be?
