Anyone cycling Germany, Czech Republic, Poland etc?

Hello all, at the moment I'm in Geißen in Central Germany (north of Frankfurt) and am keen to cycle with others going with a similar route. My route is East through Germany to Prague, then onto Krakow in Poland then I'm up for any route south on my way to Turkey and beyond. Let me know if anyone is going to be in this area and I'll say hello!

Kyle

Hey man,

I'm also heading to Turkey I should get there early September. I've been on the road nerly 6 weeks and I'm now currently near Helsinki en route to Poland then down to Vienna to pick up the Danube.

I'm waiting on a friend at the minute in Finland, so unfortunately I think my pace will be a little too slow to catch you up.

Who knows though our paths may cross at some point, stranger things have happened.

Good luck with your trip, hope all goes well.

We have visited both the Czech Rep and Germany in the last year. Get a good Michelin Map. Lots of back roads in the Czech Republic. Germany our favorite bike tour area, we thought to be around the Romantic Road. Bikes were everywhere.

Hey Kyle,

I live in Prague, when do you think you might be in the area? Maybe I could join you for a day or two. Touring CZ is really idyllic, plenty of quiet back country roads going through untouched 20-house villages. Outside large cities the people might seem a little menacing because they tend stare a lot, but I've found them to all be friendly in the end.

There are tons of bike trails here, unfortunately only the major ones are well marked, Be sure to check out this thread I made: https://www.bikeforums.net/touring/439442-czech-republic-excellent-online-map-resource.html. Its a great interactive map resource for planning your routes.

Hi Colin, I will probably be in Prague in about three-four days or so, but I don't have anywhere to stay so I will probably camp somewhere outside the city. It would be good if you could join in for a day or so, send me an email: kyleandrewarcher (at) gmail.com

Cheers mate

Elduderino, it would be cool to meet you up, do you have a blog I could follow?

Yep, would be great to meet up.

My friend lands tomorrow night which means I shall be back on the road on Thursday and I hope to be in Riga, Latvia on the Tuesday. Then from there we aren't too far from Poland. If your in the area give me an e-mail and we'll share a beer.

I'm using crazyguy although the blog has kind of being rushed. Website should be below here hopefully.
