Color combinations for Truckaccino LHT?
So what do you think will go well with the new color? Silver fenders/racks and black seat? Black fenders/brown seat?

my evil scheme involves maximum ugliness/visibility, for safety/repugnance to thieves. I'm going with mostly silver components, but everything possible (ortliebs, planetbike fenders, headset spacers, barplugs, tape on the bars) in screaming-raunchy yellow. Havent decided on the saddle yet, as there's nothing that seems appropriate for tours in butt-ugly yellow. anyone have any promising leads? otherwise, it'll likely be a black b-17

I could see some cream colour Schwalbe Big Apple tires on the Truckaccino, some silver Honjo fenders, any of the brown Brooks saddles or a cream Selle An-Atomica saddle, and cream bar tape. I think if you could match most of the creams you could get it to look pretty cool.
I ride my bike a lot for work and fun and love it just the same (a lot). So I put a bit of thinking into how I wanted things to feel and to look and have no regrets. Some call it bike porn, some think of it as unnessesary, but I call it mine. I think well made bikes are art and though I can't afford a $2k frameset (for now) I can build the bike I have up to something I like to look at as much as I like to ride. If I lived in a big city with a bad bike theft problem I might feel a little different but I don't. So I say build it, make it pretty, make it functional, make it fun.
Style over speed!

same color scheme that looks good on the green and red LHTs. Honey/brown saddle, silver/wood fenders, cream/cork/brown/leather bar tape, racks seem up for grabs, both silver and black would look good, whereas silver looked better with the cherry/olive and black with the utility blue.

Begging your pardon, but I believe that the only cream-coloured schwalbes extant on the new-tire market are the fat franks, which are also available in brown, which might look awesome on the truckaccino lht. or, they might look ghastly. either way, you can't go far wrong.

surreal,
You're right, my mistake, don't know what I was thinking? I guess I got the "big" and "fat" part mixed up
Fat Franks:

i'm developing a man-crush on the brown fat franks, or the concept of them. I've yet to see any actual pics, but they'd prolly look bit-CHING on my orange hardtail, for townie purposes.
either way, the fat franks and the big apples are very similar tires, functionally and aesthetically. I just want something more -- i don't know, violent?-- on my touring/rando bike.

LOL, now that you mention it, I think the brown/orange would look very "vibrant" on my olive LHT with Brooks honey brown bar tape and saddle, all silver components, and Woody fenders... I'm going to have to think on that...
...maybe until next payday!
