Arizona to Cape Cod summer 2010
I'm planning a cross country tour from SE Arizona to Cape Cod in the summer of 2010. Any route ideas? Weather hints? I'm planning on having a Sag wagon as I'm through sleeping on the ground. I hope to average 60 miles per day and I'm not in a rush. I'm also inclined to take weekends off or any other day off to see an interesting whatever. I'm 51, not rich, but have to do this before I die, or die trying. My wife thinks I'm nuts, but she's all for driving the sag wagon (an RV we haven't purchased yet). I'm building up a modified Schwinn Paramount for the tour, as my restored '73 French 10 speed that I toured the country on last time will be too hard to find parts for. If anyone is extremely interested in joining me, pm me. I expect to be gone for the whole summer, and may even continue on up into Vermont and New Hampshire and Maine in the Fall. Who knows? If you want to come but like to ride fast fast fast, you'll be with the wrong crowd. I already have a neighbor who leaves me in his dust at no extra charge. My first tentative route plan takes me to Pueblo, Co after crossing the Rockies at 11,000' (this is where I might die trying!). It's all downhill from there!!! I know it's aggressive, but what the heck. You only live once. Any advice? Any Takers?

Where is your starting point? If you do short runs with sag I am sure you will get a good idea of your starting route.I would do a pickup RV.
My favorite run so far is Globe AZ to Scottsdale loop.
Eastern Arizona is cooler I would go east and then north to Navajo Nation Four Corners then into SW Colorado hop on the West Elk loop at Hotchkiss CO (5 Rv dollar camping at fairgrounds) and head into Pueblo Co.
If it were me, I would take a north route up an alternative ACA route at Salida CO. and head over to Walden Colorado then Fort Collins CO and Larmie WY heading over to SD badlands ride east through Minnesota and Wisconson take a ferry over Michigan Lake cross over into Canada at Detroit and head up to Niagara falls take the Eire canal and ten head east into Boston.
