I'm glad you asked. My Flyer was aged leather. It looked so cool when it was new, and I thought that it would have the same suede jacket look forever. It became a brown Flyer within a few weeks. It was comfortable from the start without a break in period, and I think that, in retrospect, that is the point.

cool. I thought from the pictures that it would have the texture of a basketball almost haha. now that i've seen that picture, i might have seen a few aged leather saddles mistaking them for antique brown.

Brooks aged by time !!!

Where it's mounted now, the nose is adjusted a bit higher however,

Only took me 2 hours to figure out how to post these !!!!

Have a black flyer B-17 on my Raleigh M-3 and A B-67 honey on the wifes Raleigh. They are great seats but lack the caracter of this one. Have a B-18 coming for the wifes Raleigh EVA. Guess I like the Brooks comfort and looks.

B67 on my Breezer-

I gotta have the nose of Brooks saddles pointed quite aggressively up or I slide off the front. No problem with the prostate or the boys.

The pound has slumped something rotten against the dollar in the last year or so. Does this mean prices for Brooks will slump as well?

Yeah there was NYT article yesterday on the pound going under $1.40; last I looked it was ~$2. Time for plane fare maybe...

Here is mine by the way; I am thinking about lacing it up to restore a horizontal profile.

WTF? You gotta have some other fit issue going on there. It's a wonder you don't end up on the Tailrider! Go see a bike fitter. Maybe the setback post is the problem.

They're Midge bars by On One. They are like the wtb mountain drop bar, designed with dirt riding in mind...

Gelorge - I think I have a similar problem with my Team Pro - I got hit by a car and when I looked at my seat the front was kind of cattywampuss; but no scuffs or any other marks. Looks like the tension bolt will turn in the metal housing (that's riveted to the leather). I can turn it back, but I don't think it was loose before. I wonder if I can crimp the outside of the housing in a vise to tighten it on to the bolt. Anybody have any experience with this?

I just fixed that saddle, but in the mean time I bought another one. The one I fixed I had to hold the bolt on the threded end with a set of pliers, with a small rag to protect the threads of the bolt. I took 3 threads and the saddle is tight again and I know it will work.

I believe your saddle is a B67, since it is sprung and on single rail. The B68 is not sprung.

Also, I would have expected your saddle to be positioned at least level, since it is sprung, and then when seated the nose would be tilted up with springs giving for the load. As pictured I would think that it is uncomfortable if I was only observing.

Your seat post is also angle rearward as well?

Is the mounting head level, or titled as well?

I have a B68 on a suspension post, mounted to my hybrid, it is very comfortable for casual rides, but when I setup bike for tours, I replace with a B17 Imperial, can ride all day with no ghost saddle effect.

You are correct. Its actually a B67. I've edited my post.

Also, I would have expected your saddle to be positioned at least level, since it is sprung, and then when seated the nose would be tilted up with springs giving for the load. As pictured I would think that it is uncomfortable if I was only observing.

The seat post is a setback Thomson.
As you can see in the picture, the wide part of the saddle where I actually sit is level.
If the nose of the saddle is adjusted any lower, I find myself sliding forward on the saddle and constantly having to push my butt back onto the back of the saddle every few minutes while riding.
Though I'm nearly 200 lbs, the springs are very strong and I don't notice any give when I sit down on the saddle. Never any problem sliding or moving off the rear of the saddle.
Nonetheless, with the saddle as pictured, I have no discomfort issues.

EDIT: Apparently I'm not the only one. Check out the pic above with the brown B67 in the foreground.
Thanks for posting that pic Al.
