Alternative Energy Tour of Northern Europe... suggestions?

so my wife and I are hoping to spend a majority of the summer in Northern Europe following the North Sea Cycle Route. She is a 7/8 science teacher and would love to be able to also research some curriculum on alternative energy, transportation, infrastructure in this area. Whether its touring some wind turbine sites and/or talking to someone involved in the energy business or someone involved with the bike infrastructure... we're looking for some specific tips on what to see, who to visit etc.. if anyone could pass along places or names that we could contact and try to set up meetings with that would be greatly appreciated... even just some links to sites or organizations would also be great. we'd be hoping to not just see and take some pics but make actual contact and perhaps interview and get some materials that we could bring home for her students.

much thanks
Ricardo

The UK part of the North Sea Cycle Route passes through my county. You can see the some modern wind generation at Scroby Sands on the coast off Great Yarmouth and at the Ecotech Centre in Swaffam (where you can climb up a large turbine tower).
If old fashioned windmills are your thing, Bircham Windmill in one of the best, with a working mill and bakery.

We have extensive wetlands from ancient peat workings. You can tour them in an electric/solar powered boat.

The cycling is generally flat or gently rolling along small country lanes.

Delft looks like it is pretty close to the cycle route. The university there is doing some clever work with kite-powered generators.

hey thanks MichaelW, the Ecotech Centre looks promising and the Bircham windmill provides some neat historical perspective.

Scruffy- do you have any links to reports on those kite-powered generators?

thanks for your time in responding! I'll pass this info on to my wife
