Anyone fancy on Bicycle tour on Singapore and Malaysia...?
Hi,
I'm trying to organise a bicycle tour from Singapore to Malaysia. Although I'm new to the forum, but I'd experience when I was a student touring from Kuala Lumpur to Langkawi in 15 days. Even now, I'm still dreaming abt it in my dream sometimes...haha.
I hope to get on the wheel again and do the same. My wife called me crazy but I wish I'm not the one alone that is crazy...
Let me tell you what's happen 15 years back when I was a secondary school student.
During that time, the bicycle tour was arrange by the school scout team. Initially, it only recruits the scout. I'm not a scout but I love bicycling. So, I ask my friend who is a scout to enroll for me. And it happen that there are low participant, so, I was fortunate to be in the squad.
There are total of 20 members. Some as young as 14 years old. We were divided into 2 teams, 10 members each and lead by a captain in front and a senior at the back...
We avigate the old trunk road near the malacca straits. 15 years ago, there was not many vehicle. And the ride was a smooth one.
We spend 15 days on the road. Day 1, we managed to stop at Tanjung Sepat if I'm not wrong.
So, you may ask where do we sleep , well, thats easy...
Preparation was made some 2 months back. We were sleeping on the table in the school. Whether it is a primary school or secondary school. Because it was school holiday at the time, so, we are able to do that.
And because of the FREE accomodation, we were able to join. Just buy a bike and if you think you are tough enough, then just do it.
OK, I will tell more info in the future,... but for those who want to try on biking on Malaysia road, and take a 2 weeks holiday or vacation in Malaysia. I hope I can help. There are many routes that we can go for.... whether we start from Singapore or Malaysia, you will be experiencing Malaysia the best way.
And of course, this times around, we won't be staying in the school.
Rgds,
Wesley Loo

I've been to both. Singapore. Get a moped. The traffic is nuts. Malaysia. Yes. Go to the highlands. It's cooler and off season, much less congested.
