Need some advice.....

Okay so I am looking for a bike that I can commute in and also do some 70 to 120 mile trips in I am a bit lost on what exactly to look for...I am sure you all have seen this thread a thousand times but any help is appreciated.

Well, you're looking in the wrong place! Go to a couple of bike shops and talk with them. Ride a few bikes, see what you like.

If you're new to cycling, or want the best all-a-rounder, (not a great loaded touring bike however) Here's your bike.

Good luck and happy test riding!

How did you arrive at the 70 to 110 mile figure? Have you ridden those distances before? Chances are if you have, you will have an excellent idea of what your biking needs are.

There are so many factors to consider. Do you want the comfort of a flat bar or the aerodynamics and extra hand positions of a road bike? Then you have to consider the frame material. Aluminum may be lighter than steel, but does not absorb bumps as well as a general rule. What road surfaces will you be riding on? I have a road bike and a hybrid and they take care of my biking needs. If I am going on a longer ride with hills and wind, I definately take my road bike. If my ride is generally flat with little wind (trails) then I take my hybrid.
