Trek 930 Singletrack

Searching craigslist I found a trek 930. Seller says it has 16" stays but to me they looked longer. There is rust on the bike and is posted as being in fair condition.

So the questions are:
Is the trek 930 a good touring frame?
Anyone with a 930 out there willing to measure their chainstays, if conveiniant?

Thanks

Hank, I found one source that said the chainstays for the 1998/99 model 930 were 430 mm or 17". Hope that helps. Might be able to do better if we knew the model year. If you have an approximate idea and the color, you can look that up.

My touring bike is a 1994 Trek 930 with drop bars. The oversized frame tubes makes for a fabulously stout frame. I love that I can wail up a hill fully loaded without anything (on the bike) wheezing. Can second that the chainstays are 430mm which gives my size 10 feet adequate heel clearance.
