Routes into NYC

I plan to ride down to NYC sometime this summer to catch a ballgame at the New Yankee Stadium. I've been to NYC many times but always in car/truck or via train, never via bicycle. My plan will probably involve a room in Manhatten so if anyone familiar with the area can help out with a bike friendly route coming in from the north, I'd appreciate the input.

From the North? How far north? Along the Hudson or from the Coastal side?
There is the Hudson Greenway on the West or the paths near the Hutch near Orchard Beach
Rt1 to the paths along Pelham Parkway to Fordham to the Grand Coucourse. Ride along the access roads on GC to 161 ST. There is also the bike paths from the Kensico Dam to Tuckahoe to connect to E 233rd st to Pelham Parkway. There are a couple of good motels in Yonkers and an Econolodge near Pelham BAy PArk near CO-OP City.
Look at the Westchester County site for the North & South Bike Trails and the Bronx River paths. Stay In Yonkers, take the bus to Woodlawn rd and the #4 train to Yankee Stadium.
Need more info contact me off list
