As you can see i don't really have allot of money but i need a reasonably sized one. I am planning to take bike rides for about 50-120 miles and some times going on the weekends to my friends house that is about 15 miles away in a straight line an i would take my psp(charger and more) 2 tee shirts ,2 shorts,spare tubes and some more stuff that i cannot recall right now.And if my other freind would come i would like to take his stuff too which would be probablly 4-5 tee shirts 2 psp's two chargers, some more electronics( phones,mp3s and other stuff)

It is small. You can probably only CC tour with it and your are probably going to need a small backpack on top of the rack, unless you pack ultra light.

The larger bag might not give you all that much more room, as they have separate compartments and each corner takes up valuable space.

I would assume the larger bag is as tedious to mount as the smaller bag. The attachment at the lower end of the bag is a cheap elastic cord and hook. I have had it open on me and get caught in the spokes.

I have since upgraded to Ortlieb Bike Packers and I am glad I did.

I tried the cheap pannier thing, and regret it. One thing I did was use an old daypack I have had for nearly 10 years. I took two carabiners, attached them to the cinch straps on the top of the bag and strap it to the rack with a net or or a bungee. It holds more than just about any pannier and cost about 4 dollars. Plus, you have a backpack when you get there. The only problem I have had is that I can only run it on the non-drive side. Decent day packs can be had for $20 or $30 dollars at big box stores. Like I said, mine has been good for 10 years.

Don't know about those, but have had great luck with Nashbar and Performance Waterproof panniers. Three of us used them on the TA and nothing ever got wet, the bags are still good as new, they are light weight, and they were very inexpensive. I have no complaint at all with them. If you watch the sales and use a coupon from the coupon forum you can probably get them for the same price or possibly better.

Already mentioned.... I will add my vote for the Axiom stuff. I'm now using a set of the waterproof version in the Axioms but I have also used the normal version. Axiom has a lifetime Guarantee as well. Decent mounting system also.

When I compare them to my Ortliebs.... They are very good value for the money.

I bought a set of LG from Nashbar when they were about $50 per set. They are large enough to pack too much and are waterproof. I have the front bags too and like them equally yet they cost more than the rear.

Also a question. Which bike should i use ( out of the ones on the signature) A person said the 820 probably and i need to agree because here in Louisville the roads can be rough and i might do some trail touring. But i just wanted to make sure because i have never toured before.
And also when ever i get the panniers i need a bike rack also so could anybody tell me which ones you are using or ones which you believe fit my needs.
