And it makes it seem as if health insurance is a requirement.
They definitely should have had that on the original flyer.
Perhaps this wasn't sent to everyone, but maybe it was and you've already seen it. If not, here you go!

...a quick note that the Participant Release form does not need to be completed and faxed back by Monday. That document was included in error at this stage in the game.

Mr. SXE friend,
Check out ehealthinsurance.com - click short term on the right side, then enter your ZIP. You should be able to walk away with a 1-6 month plan for a small up front application fee and $20-40 per month. It shouldn't take more than a day to get your application accepted, unless you [are forced to] answer health questions negatively. Make sure you say you want your information sent to you online/email/internet though (towards the end of the application).

Congratulations.

They are probably going to load weight in your panniers to make sure you slow down enough so that you don't leave the younger riders in the dust.

That is so cool! I'm envious, even jealous, but I'll live. Y'all leave from NYC on 6/26, right? Let us know when you're reaching the city, okay?

Hey friends,
I just found this thread today- don't know why I didn't think to check BF sooner. I applied 2 weeks ago and I've been chewing my nails to the quick since then, refreshing the BFF website daily for updates when I felt starved for emails. I got my communique from the promo company yesterday- I'm in! 10Wheels, I'll be seeing you there.
Anyone else? Roll call?

Damn. If only I had seen this earlier. I think I would be perfect for this.
27 years old, and just finishing first year of med school. I can't think of a better way to spend my last "free" summer until I retire! Consider me jealous.

Would y'all be agreeable to my moving this thread to this:https://www.bikeforums.net/hosted-travelogs-stories-road/ subforum to see if some life can be brought to it?

That would be the place to report on the ride after it starts on June 25.

I haven't heard back so I'm guessing I didn't make it. Here I thought I would have been perfect for this. I guess the ways of promoters are inscrutable. I even offered to forfeit the 3k.

Looks like it's back to my original plan of a tour around the great lakes and northeast this summer.

So I was a bit confused about the whole deal. I had received the forms, but no phone call, so I didn't know if I had to make another cut or not. I emailed Nick and just spoke with him on the phone about it, and it appears they forgot to call me! I'm in, so all is well, but we talked a while about the trip and such.

The plan is to start at 8 or 9 the morning of, in "Time Square, Central Park or Columbus Circle (a big name place), cross the George Washington bridge and head to Philly - 50 miles per day for 2 easy days." Then we would split into two groups of 21, split evenly based on exactly experience, gender, cyclist-type, etc - "women, young guys, older guys, bike messengers, experienced tourers split evenly between the two groups". He was still working on finalizing the route, but named off "Chicago, Austin and Dallas" when we were talking about routes a bit. He also mentioned no need for panniers, as it is fully supported (sorry BengeBoy! ). "In the coming days" we'll have routes and such, I hear.

So what's the BF head count?

MAN I WISH I WAS GOING! SOUNDS LIKE A DREAM!

Any ideas on what the route from GWB to Philly might look like if you're on bikes straight through?
I am planning to travel those exact spots Thursday.

Thanks so much!
