Cateye-help needed.

I am switching my cateye from one bike to another. Both tires are 700 but the new bike has wider tires. Can I leave the cateye setup the same for the new bike even the tires are wider. I know the circumference is what is used to set them up but I was just wondering.

Right, it's all about circumference. So compare the two wheels: Walk Bike 1 down a straight line for, say, twenty wheel revolutions (use the valve stem to keep track of revolutions). Do that maybe three times and average the results. Now do the same for Bike 2. Is there a significant difference? If not, you're all set.

Tires generally get taller as they get wider.

My Sigma BC 1606L DTS wireless was specific on tire size/width. Cat Eye doesn't have this in their setup?

You can do what Takara suggests or look up the number you need to input using an instruction manual.

yes. I'm sure you can find the exact code online. Try searching Cateyes website. I know that planet bike has them listed online also.

What model? I may have the code handy if you don't have the original directions with the codes.

edit: cycle safe did the searching I did not want to do.
