The first metric century of my wanna-be tourer
It all started late last winter, one morning it just become obvious to me that i had got to get back to my beloved sport. Months later, as I dusted off my road bike, I envisioned bikepacking around, no full kit, just me, a comfty bike and a stary night.
Today, I did my first Off/On road metric Century in more than 5 years. (Of course, I bonked on the last Kms :o) My touring steed, all 90 dollars of it, the best of my parts bin and a full weekend of frame painting at home. http://i195.photobucket.com/albums/z...es/frankie.png Saludos from sunny Mexico. |
Awesome! and the bike looks great. Congrats on the 100k too.
Where in Mexico are you? |

I live in Los Mochis, Sinaloa. about 550miles south of the border, or 250 miles north of Mazatlan. Saludos |
so, not to sidetrack he thread, but, can you reccommend a route through copper canyon via basaseachic by bike? how cold is it there in the winter or spring?
you are lucky to live in such a nice place... |
Hello Positron,
The Copper Canyon is a big place, it really depends on what kind of ride you want, Road, MTB, Tour? From Basaseachic to Creel is a very nice road that could be done in a couple of days or a really long one, maybe your best bet will be if MTBing to ride around Basaseachi for a couple of days and the move by car to the Creel area and spend 3 or 4 days there. Its beautiful country. Check my blog, I have several Garmin maps so you can get an idea. Check this guy, at http://www.crazyguyonabike.com/doc/p..._id=74018&v=4b Saludos |
Congrats on your 100K and your bike looks great. Alot of people spend a lot of money on a LHT that looks almost exacty like your bike. (me included)
