companion riders wanted

I'm not sure how/where to suggest this, but here goes. Every now and then someone posts that they're looking for fellow riders to join them on a tour through (insert location, route, etc. here).

In fact, I'm about to do this. But first I'd like to suggest a thread just for that purpose. If you start a new thread looking for fellow riders a few months before your tour, only a tiny number of potentially interested riders will see it before your post ends up on page 3 in forum oblivion. But if we had a place to request fellow riders, it would be easy to go there whenever you're either a) looking for people to tour with or b) looking for people who are looking for people to ride with.

Is there something like this already that I've missed somehow?

Anyway, here's my personal pitch: I'm touring southern Italy next spring, and looking for fellow riders. We'll be roughly following the route of the ancient Roman road, the via Appia from Rome to Brindisi, with a couple of detours to avoid the most boring/dangerous parts of the route. I've done this before but this year I plan to explore a few new sections. Want to come along?

Here's a bit about my style: I tend to cover short distances each day (50-80 miles) to leave time for siteseeing, but I'll do a few hard days to cover more ground. I usually go for a 30/30/40 percent mix of camping, inexpensive hotels, and agriturismi (these are a rural Italian specialty--sort of a cross between a youth hostel and a bed-and-breakfast).

I'm hoping to get 10 or more people so we can bargain for discounts on food, lodging and transportation. I lived in Italy for a few years, speak Italian fluently, and I've managed to make deals before. There's always strength in numbers.

The plan is to go in late May/early April. PM me for more info.
