Problems with Topeak Road Morph G

I have had my Road Morph G for a 9 months now and have used it probably 30 some times or so when changing flat on the road. Now my pump does not want to push past 75 psi. I looked for warranty info with Topeak and can't find anything.
I know this pump is popular among the readers here, so...
  1. Has anyone else had problems with the function with their Road Morph over time?
  2. Does anyone have experience with Topeak warranty/guarantee/customer service?

Note to self: Don't wheel suck this guy! :twitchy:

I know there's a problem with thorns in part of Colo. Is that the reason for all the flats?

I have a road morph but no problems so far, sorry.

I have changed probably 10-15 from my own from bad luck. Then the rest are from riding and coming up on others who have flats and I stop to help.

I think there is a repair kit for that. My guess is they'll charge you $5, seems like that's what they charge for all the 25 cent parts I've ordered from them.

I think the warranty information is on the display packaging that the pump was sold in, which most everyone discards right away. I'm pretty sure I had a Road Morph fail because it needed a rebuild while still under warranty. I called or emailed Topeak and they mailed me a rebuild kit no charge.

Yep, $5 for the 25 cent end cap that unscrewed itself. Best to glue those suckers on.

End cap comes off seemingly by itself. The hole for the presta valve gets deformed with use. Few flats, but I use the pump to keep topped off while on tour and to help others with flats. No info on warranty.

in 1500 miles of touring (900 of that in china - gnarly road conditions) using schwalbe marathon XR tires, i have not had one flat.

the end cap DID work off my road morph G one time, I had just pushed off after a stop, heard the clink as it hit the pavement. glad I found it. this in china with presta valves! carry the adapter now...

you could also try taking it apart and greasing the seal on the piston.

Topeak customer service number is on their web site. They would be able to assist you .

In general .... most people find Topeak customer service very good.

If you contact them Topeak typically sends you whatever part is required for free. They are very good about it. I always ask about buying the parts and they set them gratis. There is a rebuild kit that has all of the parts that typically wear. They usually are good for a lot of use before a rebuild is needed though. Mine had been used hundreds of times before it got to that point.

When I was clumsy enough to break one (my fault), I contacted them about buying parts and they sent them for free. It did take two tries before I got the right part. Ditto for when I needed another mount to carry it on another bike.

You can email them from their web site. They respond fairly quickly.

This has fixed my Road Morph several times.

I'm gonna remember that next time I need a fix for my pump. I guess the cap was free and the $5 was for shipping and handling. Beat the heck out of $40 for a new pump.

My experience is that if you have your original receipt available, they'll send you want you need for free. If you don't have a receipt to prove that the item is still under warranty, they'll give you parts for free but you pay $5 for shipping and handling.

The top end pressure on my road morph pump has decreased to about 110psi, but that has taken 9 years of use as my sole pump. I may try greasing some of the internals to see if that helps me get to 120 psi for when I use skinny road tires.
